Front Page News Story

My front page news story will be about the Silk Road. The Silk Road was established from the western Han, Chaang'an. In 206 BC and 24 AD Zhang Qian set out on his journey twice exploring the world famous Silk Road. Wei Qing and Huo Qubing helped establish a few succesful wars against the Huns, which for some reason helped move obstacles in the Silk Road making travel easy. The Silk Road also helped with the trade to China, India, Persia, Arabia, Greek and Rome. China was known for there beautiful Silk which Romans could not resist getting there hands on. Romans have tried Rading for the silk and managed to get very few every raid because usually they were killed from the raid.

Opinion/Editorial

The Silk Road was an great accomplishment for the trade between the Chinese and all the other lands that the Silk Road led to. Since the Chinese had such fine silk its trade was very massive and was so popular. The Silk Road sold items from Almonds and Nuts to Weaponry and smelted items. The Silk Road was very tough to go through and many traders never returned from there. Traders coming from desert regions faced the danger of the heat the snakes, the flies etc... Overall you face the danger of fatigue and soon death! Only true hard working traders will go through the treacherous Silk Road.

MAP

This is a Map of the Han dynasty. The Han dynasty was a very special dynasty because the great wall of china protected the north side of the Han dynasty almost completley! The great wall is the blue shaded line that runs on the north side of the dynasty. The Han dynasty branched out only along the wall of china and does not extend to the outlands. The capital of china is Chang an' which means "perpetual peace". The dotted lines are now modern day china and above is modern day mongolia.

Interview with a "famous" person from dynasty

(This interview is when Liu Bang has reached the age of 61, around the time he dies from past injuries)

Parkev: Emperor who helped you uprise Hu Hai?

Liu Bang: I had rounded up three thousand men with the help of a few men from my hometown Xiao He, Cao Can, Fan Kuai, and Zhou Bu. Another man named Cheng Sheng lead the uprising with the help of many others along with me.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Parkev: When allied with the Chu forces what were the battle plans and how many men did you have?

Liu Bang: When i had joined Xiang Liang had welcomed me by enlarging my armed forces with an extra two thousand men. Sadly Xiang Liang had soon perished while being on a reinforcment mission.
The Prince of Chu had ordered Xiang Yu to help in the north and had sent me to attack from the west.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Parkev: What was your main focus for uprising the Qin dynasty?

Liu Bang: I like equality between all the people of Qin. The Qin had high taxes and did not focus on there agricultural needs for there people. Also the Qin had a unruly Emperor Hu Hai that did not understand his dutys as an emperor. Basically the dynasty was falling apart and i wanted to piece it back together by taking control.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Parkev: What ignorant fool tried to assasinate you Emperor?

Liu Bang: Xiang Yu's advisor Fan Zheng secretly plotted my assassination by requesting Xiang Yu to invite me for a banquet at Hong Meng. I had refused to go to the banquet but Zhang Liang told me that i must attend due to the size of Xiang Yu’s armed forces. Xiang Yu’s cousin Xiang Zhuang had tried to assasinate me but was stopped by Xiang Yu’s uncle Xiang Bo and Fan Kuai.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Parkev: When in power of Western Han was everything peaceful or not?

Liu Bang: Sadly everything was not, northern tribes led by turkish speaking tribe called Xiong Nu. The Xiong Nu people were namadic herders that had been making raids into china for years. My military was not strong enough to defeat the northern tribes therefore he bribed the Xiong Nu with food and clothing in exchanged for a peace treaty. I also sent a young women who claimed she was a chinese princess into marriage with a Xiong Nu prince.

Paper was invented in China during the Han dynasty. This was an important invention of the time period because it is an commonly used item today and in the past. In the Han dynasty paper was used for recording information and data. The major use was Calligraphy which many Chinese people used paper for normally. Paper was overall just used for so much it cannot be all explained at once.

Paper was created by Cai Lun and was first used to record data and important events. Paper also helped the Chinese salvage many stories or journeys an individual had went through because you can write it on paper. Before the creationof paper, the turtle shell, animal bone, golden stone, bamboo slips, wood and cloth were used for recording and remembering things.

Paper has changed the lives of many people from the past and even now! Your inventions sheet would have never been created if paper was never invented. In the past during the dynastys calligraphy was an art and also a hobby. Calligraphy in Greek means kalli which means beautiful and graphia which means writing. After the Han many more books were established in the ancient dynastys and used from all around china!

Religion/Culture

The religion of the Han Dynasty has been passed down for 2000 years and the chinese dearly worship there ancestors with costly burials to there loved ones. Daoists believed in iternal life meaning a full afterlife after death. Daoists meditated as a prayer to the ancestors and also served respect. The Han dynastys culture was mostly into calligraphy and pottery. This was a widespread hobby or art to practice in spare time. Now a days some chinese do calligraphy for fun!

Additional Option-Major Events, Culture, or Geographical Features

The Han Dynasty's geographical features are quite strange. The border stretched toward the Gobi desert and combined all the states that were near northern China. Another major event is the law that the prohibition of books is no longer a law. Another major event is when Liu Teh had developed a library for old books that the chin dynasty people had kept with them. The Han dynasty culture is into pottery and calligraphy which was very popular in the day. The Han dynasty's religion is a very successful religion that had been practiced for over two thousand years. The Han respected there religion by organizing very costly burials for there family/loved ones.
